Cars & Michael Schumacher

Being a F1 fan, a recent internet surfing brought to light that my favourite F1 driver, Michael Schumacher was the voice of a Ferrari F430 in the movie. OMG!! I didn't know this, I now have to find that movie from storage again to check it out. I recall that it was just a 1 line but I hav to see it again. Am I crazy or what?

Deciding Moment

It starts with a look, sometimes with a touch
The pauses becomes longer, words become tender
Time becomes meaningful, or is it not.
Do you hesitate, or go ahead.

Ratatouille

Went to watch Ratatouille at the movies today. I absolutely love it. There was not one dull moment and plenty of laughs thrown in.

I highly recommend it. There is always something about Paris and food that will always get to me. I am definitely watching it again.

Car love overboard?

This happened a few days ago and it was a conversation among 4 people that I never expected.
These was how it went...

A: My car is my baby.
B: So is mine, it's everything to me.

A: Do you have a name for your car?
Me & another guy (C): WHAT??!!??
B (male): Of course, I named my car Howard. My car is a guy.
A (female): My car is Ronald, he is a guy too. Male cars are definitely easier to drive.

Me: Are you guys serious??
A&B: Yeah! don't you name your car? It has feelings too you know.
Me: I have never heard that. A car is a car and I had a car which I drove every single day for years but it is still just known as my car.

A&B said to each other: Hey, our cars are parked next to each other, they are making friends now.

I looked at C.

C: I have friends who name their cars too but not me.
A: It's logical to name your car, you are with it all the time.
Me: Doesn't make sense to me.
C: Do you name your toothbrush? your toilet seat? your bed? you are with those all the time too and more than you car.
A&B: It's different!

Me thinking : It's that really different?

A said to B : Do you sometimes talk to you car too.
B: No, that's too much!
A: Well. ok. I'm stopping this. Probably freaking you guys out.
Me: Why do you talk to your car?
A: Well, sometimes in a traffic jam and it's just us. I talked to my car.
Me: Well, that's just a one sided conversation. Weird!
A: No, he replies.

This is getting weirder and weirder.
Enough said.

Good Drugs, Bad Women

I bought my ticket today. Wondering what am I talking about? I'm going to my first Burlesque show, think ala Pussycat Dolls & Moulin Rouge. I only knew about this show when there was an article in the SMH about the revival of Burlesque.

Rich hues and elaborate costumes coupled with the art of the tease! This is meant to be a good show and stars one of the Pontani sisters who is apparently widely respected in this business.

Pontani says, "It is about the tease, sass and class and being sexy. It's not sleazy, it's just fun."

Never one to shy away from expanding my experiences, I will tell you guys what it's like after the show on Saturday.

APEC and its chaos

APEC, known as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is underway this week at the city of Sydney. With various lock downs in place, it is causing a bit of inconvenience to the everyday people. Why they can't have it in Canberra which is the government congregation state defies logic.

It's really funny with the near round the clock news on the President of the US. Imagine all the government ministers who have to be at the airport strip before his stated arrival time of 10pm and having to wait around for 35 minutes in the cold rain because he is late. All they got in return were handshakes and waves. The public witness a second by second footage of Mr. Bush getting out of the plane and making his way to the car while all the Minister of China got as footage was a mere 10 seconds. Makes you wonder where the priorities are considering that the former is being introduced as the most powerful man in the world.

Next thing was news reporter stating his hour-by-hour schedule for the next few days. Am I seriously interested? Wouldn't giving the public his schedule increase any potential for troublemakers? Some events are just so amusing!

To commemorate this event, the Australian mint has even produced 1 dollar coins tailored specifically for this. A pack of 20 coins is currently being sold as AUD29.95. Any takers?

Iconic views

Went to the office during the weekend for a dose of the oh-so-wonderful internet speed that it brings. I happen to look out the window of the meeting room that I was in and this is the view I get.

The harbour bridge on my left and the Sydney opera house on my right. Priceless!

Chifley Penrith Panthers

Was working in Penrith the week before which is out in the western region. Making the journey to the client everyday was starting to get a bit too much and a few of us decided to just stay there to save our time and energy.

We checked into the Chifley Penrith Panthers hotel which was right next to the Krispy Kreme store. Now, this is a moment to savour as this was the first store to open in Sydney. People used to drive from miles away for their dose of Krispy Kreme in the past.

What can I say with the indulgence of hotel rooms sometimes. I found myself with 2 double beds in my room. Now what am I supposed to do with 2?
